That was the headline that greeted me earlier when I was reading theoffside.com.    Uefa are looking to experiment with 2 extra assistants.   These though wont be looking at offsides etc, but will manage the penalty area and look at goal lines decisions.

As you will notice now in the Premiership etc the Officials are all mic’d up.   Ive clearly never used this system but think that this must be a great addition to the existing communication channels.   To be able to talk to one another without have to go across must be useful.

Despite the fact that England made a cock up of the qualification to Euro 2008.  Its excellent news that there will be an Englishman going to the finals and who probably has a better chance that the England team of getting to the final.
