 Referee Sergei Shmolik was helped off the field with back pain while officiating a Belarus league match, but later was shown to be drunk.

In TV footage shown Wednesday on Russian television, Shmolik staggered as he was helped off the field at the end of Saturday’s match.

Just been catching up on some bits & pieces and spotted this two storys.
A Referee in Scotland had to call the police to a game after fans & players started fighting.  The match was an Under 16’s game!
A United Counties game was abandoned on Saturday after the two teams started fighting

That was the headline that greeted me earlier when I was reading theoffside.com.   Uefa are looking to experiment with 2 extra assistants.  These though wont be looking at offsides etc, but will manage the penalty area and look at goal lines decisions.

You may remeber that in 2005 Robert Hoyzer a German Referee was convicted of rigging several games.   The German FA paid out compensation to the affected clubs and are now attempting to get the 1.5million they paid out back
