So this brings us up to speed!

Last Tuesday I had an FA Youth Cup line between two football league sides U18′s.   With the away side winning 2-0 at half time we thought that would be the game finished as the home side hadn’t been in the game.   Second half was a different game!

The away side managed to score before going 3-1 down, pulled it back to 3-3 with minutes to go.  Then went through one on one and put the ball over after trying to blast it in.

Going into extra time players seemed to be going down a little to easily with cramp and so it had become a little stop start.  However nothing prepared us for what was coming 6 minutes from time.  A shocking challenge by the away defender on the home attacker, broke his leg causing him to bleed as well as a vein was cut as well.  No doubt where he was going.

We and the player were lucky we had the benefit of the facilities and St John’s at the ground.  On a Sunday morning we would have been in trouble.

Going into the last minute the Referee gave a penalty which the home side missed, losing the chance to finish the game.  Which pretty much summed up how the penalty shoot out went!

I didnt have a game last Saturday due to work, and as seems to the case with a lot of Level 4′s I dont have one this weekend.  However I am due to be out assesing.
