Its now just under 2 weeks for the start of the season and I’m probably more excited about the new season that I have been for a few years. Unsure why, maybe its getting the FA Appointment that’s given me something extra to look forward to.
Ive been getting ready for the new season over the last couple of weeks in a couple of different ways. As well as getting the fitness back up.  I reviewed all my kit a few weeks back. Went through my whistles, socks the lot and threw away anything that was had it (actually not much) and made a list of what I needed to replace. I usually end up buying some junk for the start of the season but really couldn’t justify anything. I did consider getting some new boots, but having coated them in dubbing back in May they were all in good condition and so didn’t need replacing. So the only thing Ive needed to buy was a new bad to keep my whistles together, however I needed this last season. I used to have a small wash bag that worked well, but at the start of last season it developed a tear. I wanted to buy something similar last year, but struggled to find anything. In the end i brought this bag of Offiical Sports. While Ive had to jig around where i keep things its worked quite well.

I tonight have a pre season game. Its a bit of an odd one in that Gresley Rovers 1st Team is playing their Reserves in a training game. I did this last year and it turned out to be a really good game, although the 1st team did run away with it in the end.
