The main talking point of this weekend was the Andy Johnson goal for Everton being rulled out for Offside. My view from the main offsides is that it wasn’t Offside. I think there has been some talk about it and referring to interference but I think he thought that he was just straight Offside and not being played on by the 2nd defender.  On Goals on Sunday though there was an interesting discussion and the video is here.
However its always the case that negatives get focused on and not the positives. Ignore Alex Ferguson’s complaint about 7 cautions. Why hasnt he come out and condemned Rooney’s dive, which was well spotted by Mark Clattenburg.
Also a great positive for me was Andre Mariners advantage for the 3rd goal. Adebayor gets fouled, he plays advantage.  Arsenal break and Adebayor has made up the ground to put the ball in the back of the net.
Lucky man of the weekend is David Dunn. He was cautioned for a challenge, then somehow got away with a crafty(blatant) handball.  However to be fair to Alan Wiley. Dunn was turning and I think it would have been difficult to pick up the intent in real time.
An interesting incident from the Portsmouth vs Chelsea game was the Challenge on Baros. It looked and awful challenge, but the question is there are these worse than two footed challenges. I think personally the answer is yes.
