The Referee

I receive quite a few emails through this site asking me for tips to help people progress to the Premiership.   Trust me If i knew the tips for that, then id wouldn’t be a level 4   However what I can give is advice that i give to Referee’s to help them try to get the most out of this hobby.

So over the next few days I will break them out on here my various tips I give to people.

1. Join your local Referee Association branch or society.   Its a great way to talk about the problems you encounter on the pitch as mostly everyone has had this problem before.  If they’ve not its a great place to debate them.    There is also a great social side to most branch’s and it helps you develop a support network of people you can call after a game at the weekend and talk through decisions.    Membership cost is annual and does vary slightly depending on the branch as some include a few extra things, but its around about £15.
