Firstly Happy New Year to everyone and I hope you keep to all your resolutions.  I had a sensible New Years Eve as Yesterday I was Assistant for the local derby between Hinckley & Nuneaton.Â
It turned out to be a good game and everything you would expect from a local derby, but luckily no controversy.   The game finished 0-0 but with Nuneaton pushing for a play off place and Hinckley trying to move up the table all the decisions were met with frustration.  It was probably the busiest I have been on a line all season.  Especially in the 2nd half when Hinckley were playing high up the pitch and Nuneaton were breaking around the half way line.   Mind it didnt help when after 5 mins of the 2nd half I felt my hamstring tweak on my left leg and it was constant sprinting for the next 10 minutes.  Its a bit sore today but nothing to bad.
Ive today had my assessment through (thats what i call quick!) and it made a nice read and I got my highest mark of the season as an assistant. Although this kind of backs up my theory that as an assistant if youve had nothing to do and you could have been technically spot on, your not getting much better than a 76.  However if youve flagged a few free kicks and had to do something you may get over an 80.  It does feel a bit flawed, but if everyone is judged the same way then it doesn’t really matter to much
