The Referee

On Saturday I was at Gainsborugh for the 3rd Qualifying Round tie vs Blyth Spartans.   It wasn’t a classic as a game, but what you would expect from a cup game.  Fiercely contented with some firm challenges. I didn’t have a great deal to do as Assistant throughout the game (1 offside and a couple of free kicks).  I did though draw the Referee’s attention to a late challenge which he had turned and missed.   This was picked up by the assesor and I got some positive feedback.I am still awaiting the assessment for the game but was given a couple of development points.  Only small things such as I have a tendency for the way I hold the flag for it to furl around the back of my legs.  He suggested trying to hold it more infront of me to increase the viewing area.   I will though have to wait and see what other points are on the assessment when I receive it.
