Septembers Appointments
Ive just realised I hadn’t posted my appointments for September, so here goes.
September is a 5 Saturday month and i have just 2 Saturday games (well thats not quite true but ill come to that in a minute) and 2 midweek on the fixtures. I go to Bromsgrove next Saturday in the Southern League Prem for their fixture against Heamel Hempsted. Ive been to Bromsgrove a couple of times, and was there when they gained promotion last season to the Premier in the play-offs. However Ive never before come across Hemel Hemspted and no nothing about them. Although when I was at Rugby the other week they mentioned they were a team that score a lot of goals.
I follow this up on the 11th with a middle in the Midland Comb. Its nice to get to Referee on other leagues and teams from outside the County. However this isnt quite the case as its Loughborough Uni vs Bartley Green. Loughborough are a “new side” in the pyramid this season however as a University side over the last few years have been very strong.
This is followed with a free Saturday however that could change. I then have another midweek game and a local derby with Shephsed playing Quorn in the Northern Premier Southern Divison. That should be an interesting local derby.
I then end the month with a game on the West Mids when I go to Darlaston vs Bustlehome. Ive been to Darlaston before but dont remember anything about the ground or the location, so need to look that up. Im looking forward to this as I ve got to local assistants with me so get to travel to a supply game with someone. Also one of the assistants is the Son of a Level 4 ive known since ive passed and its his first Premier Division line so he will be up for the game.
The last Saturday in the month is currently free, but its also county cup weekend so threes a chance i will be out on a game somewhere.
So to tomorrow, well I was free and facing a weekend of painting ceilings. However I got a phone call on Tuesday from the FA and I have now picked up Southam vs Strattford in the FA Cup. Ive been looking forward to this since i got the call. A Liverpool fan I used to work with could never understand why I prefer the FA Cup over the Finish in the top 4 league cup. This is the reason why! It takes 9 months for 700 teams to get down to 2 teams. It starts out with the smallest teams that will never get to the 3rd round let alone Wembley or even winning it. Its a real competition and forgot what people say the FA Cup isnt dead
