1st Line of the Season
Tuesday night I had my first line of the season, this took me to Rugby vs Brackley in the Soutern League. With this being my first competative line since last season I wasnt to sure what my sharpness would be like.
Rugby took the lead in the first half, however after Brackley made a change in the 2nd half they took control of the game and ran out 2-1 winners. The game was pretty end to end and was good to get the sharpness back. I didnt really have a lot of offisde’s during the game although was probably wrong not to give one near the half way line in the first half. Luckily this didnt cost the team. The assesor did comment on this. He said that he could understnad why I hadnt given it as there was a long delay from the player coming from behind the defender, however he thought I should have given it.
The assesor also commented on the technical area. Rugby had at times 3 people standing and while they werent a problem he felt if there had of been then I may have left them get away with it to long. I see where he was coming from, but the Ruby bench was in the other half of the pitch and werent an issue. I probably should have shown more concern for the technical area but didnt really need to go in heavy on it.
There was some strenghts on fitness and sharpness which was pleasing as im not fully fit and with it being early your still getting sharpness. I also got a comment for co-operation. In the first half a defender went in for a challenge and got knocked on the head and didnt move. I had flagged for the injury but not the infringment and this was picked up and commented on which was nice.
This sets me up for Saturday when I go to Ilkeston on the Unibond for their fixture with Ossett.
